March Madness!

So I may not be a big basketball fan but that doesn't stop me from working out like a bball player!  Basketball players have incredible endurance (running up and down and up and down and up and down the court) and tons of strength (have you seen their muscles?) and AMAZING UPS!

I've always thought it was crazy awesome how high they jump and how they can do those slam dunks. So in the spirit of March Madness, Sarah from How My World Runs, Shelly from RunningPuhl, and myself are motivating you through basketball inspired exercises!

When I lead my girlfriends in mini bootcamp sessions this exercise is one of the hardest they say I make them do.  It combines endurance i.e. cardio and calf muscle building.  Introducing Laterals!  I have a video below demonstrating Laterals below.  As far as using it in your workout, I'd suggest it as a cardio interval and I like setting a time goal vs. reps.  Test yourself by trying the first interval for 30 seconds.  If you don't feel challenged, up the time to 1 minute, I bet you'll be huffing and puffing!

Target Easter finds

Yesterday I was in Target and found these super cute decorations in the $1 isle!  I'm so excited to used them in my decor once St. Patty's Day has past.
