February Literary Link Up

I'm so upset that I missed the Literary Link up party this past Tuesday so I'm having to do a late link up post!  In case you don't know what I'm talking about here's the button and you can hop on over and check it out so you can join in on the fun.  It takes place on the third Tuesday of every month over at By the Porchlight and Pink Heels Pink Truck.  Hey, better late than never!

Pink Heels Pink Truck

1. What are you reading right now? Tell us about it.
I'm reading my Psychology book!  Yeah, not all that exciting but I'm definitely learning alot.  As soon as this semester is over I am planning on attacking some books this summer starting with The Hunger Games.

2. Give us the recipe for a great book.
I like to read books that start out fast and have detailed characters.  I loved how Harry Potter was a story within a story within a story.  Even when you thought you knew it all, there was something hidden under the surface that made all the pieces line up.

3. Tell us things you’ve learned from a book recently. Did you learn anything about history? Did you take away a deep and profound realization about the world around you? Or maybe even a beauty tip?
One of the most recent books I read was about Madame Tussand.

I knew she had something to do with wax figures, obviously, but Madame Tussaud has a whole story to her.  This is a historical fiction and was so GOOD!  Did you know she survived the French Revolution and worked for the Daphne?  I learned so much about her life and that's one of the funniest parts of reading historical fiction.

4. What was your favorite book as a child?
I had so many favorite books!  Silverstein, Chris Van Allsburg, The Babysitter's Club.  I loved to read!
