One Month Half Turnaround

On December 9, 2012 I ran my first half marathon since having my second child and it was the first BIG race I've done since my 2011 Houston Marathon.  I ran a PR beating my old by 4 minutes! So going into my Houston Half Marathon this weekend I'm taking it easy.

I am actually REALLY glad I've already beat my old PR so that my issues I'm seeing creeping up don't hinder me and make me worry too much about my race this weekend.  For this weekend I just want to get under 2 hours and I'll be content.  My left heel has been aching and sore so I've been icing it but I'm not sure what exactly is going on.  Also, it's supposed to be cold, like 40's and I think that is cold for running for 2 hours.  I really love to run in the 50's or 60's but at least it's not going to be freezing!

You can take a look at my first training plan going into my December race here.  I went back to the Runner's World Smart Coach Training and reconfigured the plan for my January race but I'm not going to lie, I've kind of been slacking!  With the holidays and all the snow, I've basically missed about 1 run a week but the two each week I've upped the pace anywhere from 10sec - 1min 30 sec.  We'll see how it affects my performance!

  1. You are so inspiring! I feel like I'm allergic to exercise most of the time.

I've nominated to for a Liebster Award.

I love comments! Let me know what your thinking:)
