Ease into a new workout regime + 2 Giveaways!

Starting a new work out regime can be daunting and exhausting!  Remember that you don't have to start at full speed, I personally think the best way to stick with it is to let your body comfortably get acclimated to getting your heartbeat revved.  If you just don't know where to start and it's too cold to get outside for a run or walk do the circuit below.

Circuits are a great way to get a full body workout plus cardio and often just using the body as the resistance and weight.  Ladies have a fear that weights will bulk them up, if used correctly they can tone and make you stronger AND burn the calories like mad!  I'll show you that later but for now, we start with an easy 10 minute circuit.

Menu plan for this week

I know, the week has already started.  But yesterday when I was at the store I realized that I have to change it up because I ALWAYS make the same thing for New Years Day!  So here you go two days late!

MONDAY:  Mexi burgers with guacamole, mac n cheese, and baked beans
TUESDAY(New Years Day!): Meatloaf muffins with cabbage (for $), black eyed peas (for luck), and cornbread
WEDNESDAY:  Lasagna roll ups
THURSDAY:  Homemade chicken soup, OMG my Dad always made this growing up and it-is-so-GOOD!
FRIDAY: Going to the Cotton Bowl WHOOP! no cooking for me!

Body Measurement Tracker

I'm going to tackle a new fitness endeavor beginning next week, I'll tell you ALL about it then!  But one thing I think you might like to go with your challenge is this body measurement tracker.  You simply measure yourself at the shown spots and at the end of the month measure again.

I'm going to share my measurements (as soon as I do them!) but I'm going to be straight forward with you.  I'm not working out to lose weight, I'm working out because it makes me feel good (and allows me to have a bowl of ice cream every night without feeling guilty!) and I love the benefits that being healthy gives me.  So with this little disclaimer I'm letting you know I'm not expecting big differences in my stats.  However I'd love for you to share yours so we can evaluate at the end of the month!

To get the tracker, click here.   I got it from the Beachbody website and added some encouragement!

  3. I posted & it didn't go :(

Today is pilates. My husband & I do it together. I may try plank-a-day, but I'm not sure if my ankle is up to the pressure. I like your measurement tracker. I did my measurements & put them in myfitnesspal last night, but will be printing out your tracker for my mirror. I also stuck to my food plan for the day!

    1. That's where I'm putting my tracker too! BTW I used myfitnesspal when I was trying to lose my pregnancy weight and it was a real eye opener! I loved it! If you have a bad ankle try doing a side plank and you can do modifications to help take the strain off that ankle! Way to go!

    1. Boo! We have had a illness dragging our family through snot the last three weeks! It wrecked havoc on my half marathon training! But once I did get out for a run I was able to blow some snot rockets and work out that congestion! lol sorry for the TMI but it's true!

    1. It's so satisfying when I wake up and my abs are sore. But two days later when I laugh and it still hurts I just try to remind myself of Victoria Secret models or muffin tops! Either one makes me glad my abs are sore.

    1. How old is your son? My 3 year old loves to ride in my stroller with his 1 year old sister (not a fan yet) and he always tells me when I get done running a race," Mama, I want to run with you!" and I simply say, "I will be so glad to run with you when you get old enough to keep up!" lol Way to be a positive influence!
