My Favorite Books...then share yours!

I found this Link up that is just for book lovers!  I LOVE books!  I only get to read when I'm nursing my baby so I don't get to spend alot of time curled up with a good read.  Lately I've fallen in love with iBooks on my phone so I am definitely enjoying the ability to have my phone on me all the time.

Goings on in Texas

Here's the button for the link up so hop on over and check it out.

1) What book are you currently reading? Give us a little synopsis and your review.

I'm currently reading Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy.  I can only manage like one classic lit book a year because it takes me forever to read and understand with the old English.  But it's a romance about a married woman that falls in love and has an affair.  I'm only 1/4 of the way through it but it's pretty good so far, it kind of reminds me an old version of Shades of Gray but without all the crazy dom/sub stuff.

2) What are your 3 favorite books of all time?

It's hard to say books but I have favorite authors.  My favorite authors are Ken Follett, JRR Tolkien, and J.K. Rowling.

3) What is your "approach" upon entering a bookstore? Where do you immediately head after entering through the front door?

I don't usually go to a bookstore without a specific book in mind.  Now, whether or not I leave with that book is always different.  But I always go to the kids section for my kids to play and pick out a book and then usually find my way to find what I'm looking for while eyeing every showcase along the way!

  1. Thanks for the nice comment on my blog! I haven't read Anna Karenina, but have been wanting to since the movie is coming out soon.

I'm not currently reading anything - sad :(

I also absolutely love JK Rowling! I grew up reading Harry Potter all the way through middle school and high school. And I went to the midnight showing of the last movie for old times sake, even though I'm an old married woman now ;)

LOTR fan here too. I was a little obsessed, and am super excited for The Hobbit!

I also love anything Jane Austen. I guess I have a thing for English novels.

I haven't been in a bookstore in forever. That sounds like bliss :)

Thanks for the invite. It was fun to connect!

    1. It's funny you say that you are so excited about the Hobbit, the whole time they were coming out with the other movies I kept voicing how disappointed I was that they didn't start with THe Hobbit! After all, it is the best one!

I read all the Harry Potter books two summers ago and my hubs and I had a HP marathon(since we have kids that means we watched one a week!) and saw all of them in order. The last book was the best, by far I think and I was so frustrated watching the movies and I was so bubbled up with excitement during the last movie bc my hubs didn't know about all the twists but I didn't think they fully explained everything.

Oh well, I'm super pumped about Anna Karenina and The Hobbit! I'm not much of a movie person usually since I can't sit still that long so having movies come out that i actually want to see it exciting!

By the way, I have a weekly link party and I would love for you to put me on your list. It opens on Thursday afternoon and this movie I'm doing Christmas themed links. Tomorrow is Elf on the Shelf ideas.

  2. Thanks so much for linking up with us!! I tried reading Anna Karenina once before and had so much trouble with the Russian names (and making them actual characters in my head) that I gave up. It's probably the only book I've actually given up on. I would like to attempt it again though. :)

  3. Anna Karenina is a book I've heard of but since it's Tolstoy I just disregarded it as a long, difficult read. I'll have to check it out!!

  4. Ahh, I love Ken Follett books! They are just so epic. I haven't read any of the "thrillers", but the historical fiction is amazing.

  5. Hey there! Thanks for linking up! Check out today's questions at www.bytheporchlight.com :) Those ones were from a few months ago but that doesn't matter!

I love comments! Let me know what your thinking:)
