Crockpot French Chicken


In honor of my first ever Throw it Together Thursday, I am showcasing one of my hubs fans, French Chicken.


This is a recipe derived from something my Mom used to make for me.  She used chicken thighs but I'm not too into dark meat so I've changed that as well as some other things to make it my own.

It's a super easy recipe with a handful of ingredients and you just throw it all together.


All you need:
  • 1 lb chicken I used frozen chicken breasts but use what you like
  • 1 bottle of cheap French dressing
  • 1 bottle of a fancy brand French dressing
  • 1 1/2 cups broccoli
  • 3/4 mushrooms
  • 1 large bag Mahatma saffron rice
  • 1/2 white onion chopped
  • 2 red bell peppers I just happened to have some leftover roasted red bell peppers so I threw them in the mix



Add the chicken breasts, dressings, 1 cup water and onion into the crockpot on low for a set time of 6 hours.





 At the 3 hours mark, add your rice, roasted red bell peppers, broccoli, and mushrooms.


When you hit hour 5, take out the chicken and shred it and put it back in and mix it up.  At hour 6 you will have a nice tasty dinner!


So I realize the pic just looks like a bunch of stuff in the crockpot but, oh it's so tasty and yummy!
